The Game Pays Tribute to Tupac on 'Heaven 4 a Gangster': Premiere

It's been 21 years since the venerable Tupac Shakur was shot and killed. This year, his legacy has been remembered and honored in various ways, most notably in the Benny Boom-directed biopic All Eyez on Me. Today (Sept. 13), The Game pays special tribute to Shakur with a new record titled "Heaven 4 a Gangster," in honor of his untimely death.

On "Heaven 4 a Gangster," Game ruminates about how 'Pac would be disgusted if he were alive to witness life in 2017: "Tupac turning in his grave with all this nonsense/ A little solider ain't from Bompton." He also showcases his lyrical wittiness when he flips MCs' names into steely punchlines. "I've been on Lil Yachts/ Shot crips with Lil Uzis/ Got bricks from the Migos/ And my bitches "Bad & Boujee," he spits.

"'Heaven 4 a Gangster" was my perception of what I thought the mental premonitions of Tupac and hip-hop would be seen as today," The Game tells Billboard. "Are we understood or are our testimonies categorized as a sin? Again is there a 'Heaven 4 a Gangster?' I wanna to know."

When All Eyez on Me debuted on the big screen last June, Game encouraged Tupac aficionados to go check out the movie. "#AllEyezOnMe SUPPORT it. Go see it. Tell a friend. I love the movie & ANYBODY with a negative review of this film or anything bad to say about PAC..... I'm gone say it since he can't..... FUCK YOU," he wrote on Instagram.
